History
The Jupiter Station Interplanetary Communications network was designed for the original Jupiter stations and colonies to communicate between each other and to other distant civilizations within this solar system. It has effectively achieved this goal since TD:2137.062, and has a long and proud history of maintaining an open and free communication between all stations. The corporations invested in industries in orbit of Jupiter developed their own restricted communications platform, forming a class based stratification of communications that allowed them to better control the outward appearance of their operations. Eventually through their influence back on Terra, JS-IC was slowly cut off from accessing almost anything beyond Jupiter's orbit and the few long abandoned stations that still support it. Despite this, the remaining rogue stations and abandoned colonies still utilize the JS-IC network as a vital part of their continued existence here in orbit of Jupiter.
